Award-winning public-and media-relations consultant Susan Roth has over 20 years of experience in developing and implementing innovative media strategies. Her efforts have resulted in international media coverage for nonprofit, advocacy, disaster relief, political and government organizations, as well as for top brands, including XM Satellite Radio and Procter & Gamble. Susan’s previous senior management positions for media giants, including The Walt Disney Company and Universal Studios, have given her an insider’s knowledge of the media, which she uses when developing programs for her clients. She has long-standing relationships with key editors, reporters and broadcast producers at business and consumer media outlets.
Since starting her own public relations firm in 2000, Susan has spearheaded the Washington, D.C., launches of Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change (during the 2004 Presidential campaign) and the Silver Anvil Award-winning campaign for the 9/11 volunteer initiative One Day’s Pay. Both campaigns received international media coverage. For M+R Strategic Services, one of the leading progressive social advocacy agencies in the country, Susan provided management services for their communications division developing media strategies and secured major media coverage for M+R client advocacy events, reports, action and lobby days and initiatives.

She was a member of the XM Satellite Radio public relations team, which earned the 2002 Best of Silver Anvil Award, considered the most prestigious award in public relations and directed media coverage for the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts’ (founded by actor Jimmy Smits) Annual Gala in Washington, D.C. For the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the Permanent Mission of Norway to the UN, she led the media campaigns surrounding the visit to Washington, D.C., by the King and Queen of Norway and the UN appointment of Norway’s former Prime Minister Brundtland as Special Envoy for Climate Change..

Prior to starting her own firm, Susan served as senior national spokesperson for Disneyland. She was responsible for generating over $2 million in national broadcast publicity for the park’s “Light Magic” parade and for securing national media coverage for the “Farewell Season of the Main Street Electrical Parade,” which contributed to a significant increase in Park attendance. She also coordinated park logistics for visits by hundreds of media from around the world. As Director of Publicity for Universal Television, Susan generated mountains of positive coverage and increased viewership for Law & Order, Quantum Leap and Northern Exposure, for which she was nominated for a Publicist’s Guild Award. She also managed publicity for Entertainment Tonight and E! Entertainment Television’s coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial.
Susan worked with the White House Office of Scheduling and Advance to coordinate visits to Los Angeles by President Clinton. She also served on Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards’ advance team in New Hampshire. Susan is the co-founder of Progressive Communicators of Washington, D.C., is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Publicists Guild of America. She has a B.A. in Cinema and Communications from Hunter College in New York.
